What is a Chemical Peel?
Do you want healthier, younger looking skin? If so a chemical peel might just be for you. A chemical peel is a revolutionary peel for all skin types and requires no beforehand preparation. Can you imagine healthy, younger looking skin in six to seven days? Well with The Perfect Peel you can have it along with results that last.
The application process only takes 15 minutes to administer. Some patients have reported feeling a slight stinging or tingling sensation which subsides after just a few seconds. Numbing takes place once the first pass of a chemical peel is applied. As long as the skin is maintained with good quality skin care products and maintenance the results will last. For regular maintenance and rejuvenation, we recommend two to three treatments per year to keep the desired results.
Immediately after the peel has been applied the skin will either appear red, like a sunburn, or darker. Following a chemical peel, you will be given an at home treatment pack. This pack contains retinol wipes and a vitamin C moisturizer to assist the peeling process and enhance your results. Day three the peeling will begin. By day six or seven the peeling process should be finished and all that is left is the amazing results.
What should I expect after a Chemical Peel?
Peeling typically begins on day 2 or 3, starting around the mouth, peeling outward. Days 3, 4, and 5 are the most dramatic days of peeling. By 1 week, most exfoliation has subsided. After the peel, areas of pigmentation may appear darker. This is normal and the darker skin will exfoliate during the peeling process.
Who should not receive a Chemical Peel?
Contraindications to the Perfect Derma™ Peel include pregnancy, breastfeeding, aspirin allergy, phenol allergy, isotretinoin use in the past 4 months, inflamed skin, warts, or active herpes simplex. If you are prone to herpetic outbreaks (cold sores) you will need prophylactic therapy with Valtrex® 3 days prior to the peel and 2 days post peel.
